Explore Eger
Eger, lies in the valley of the Eger River between the Mátra and Bükk mountains. Its number of ecclesiastical buildings that were built in the town gave rise to its name “the Hungarian Rome.” Eger is mainly known for its castle, thermal baths, historic buildings (including Eger minaret - the northernmost Turkish minaret) and, above all else, its famous Hungarian red wines. Bikavér (“Bull’s Blood”), a full-bodied red wine, is Eger’s best-known wine.

Here, you can admire the stunning beauty of Baroque architecture and experience the lively atmosphere of the city. With a variety of restaurants and shops, as well as a bustling pedestrian street, Dobó Square is the perfect starting point for your visit to Eger.
Basilica of St. John the Apostle (380m)
The Basilica of St. John the Apostle is located just a short walk from Domino Suite Eger Apartment. Built in the 18th century, this stunning Baroque church features beautiful frescoes and a grand organ. Visitors can also climb to the top of the bell tower for panoramic views of the city.
Castle of Eger (550m)
The Castle of Eger is a must-see attraction for history buffs. This 16th century fortress played a key role in the defense of Hungary against the Ottoman Empire. Visitors can explore the castle grounds and museum, which features exhibits on the castle's history.
Valley of the Beautiful Women (Szépasszony-Völgy)
Just a short drive or 28-min walking distance from the apartment, the Valley of the Beautiful Women is a picturesque wine region known for its delicious reds. Visitors can sample local wines in one of the valley's many wine cellars, or enjoy a meal at one of the area's charming restaurants.
